Self - Development

Words that you hear bouncing around through people who are making different choices for themselves, or even out in the world.

“Do this to feel great”

or “read this, it is going to change your life”

& yes, while reading the good things is a great starting point and absolutely plants some good seeds, it is not necessarily going to change our lives because often we go into compare mode or we question “who the fuck are we to do these kinds of things”. It’s kind of how our brains are wired until we start making a conscious effort to do otherwise. As well, “doing this thing” or taking a certain pill is not going to be a solution for everybody because we are not a one size fits all species.

We all have different stories, experiences and perceptions.

Our bodies are built differently.

It is important that we do what feels good to us - all those ads and people will give you good ideas - but it is you and you only that can decide what it is that works for you.

It is you that needs to sit with yourself and decide what is a priority.

There are a ton of different factors to consider that can keep us back, things that we may not even consider. Things that are the reasons for us “failing” before.

One is, how we truly feel about ourselves.

&before you come at me and question what I mean, because “of course I like myself”, it is important to understand that I don’t mean the surface level you that gets by to go by and does things to appease anybody but herself. I mean your true self who isn’t afraid to say “no” to anything that doesn’t align with her, who is confident in what she has to say and who is no longer living a life that keeps her in the state of fear and blame that we have talked about before.

In order to be successful, you need to recognize that you are worth putting the effort in to &that isn’t an easy switch.

Once we are able to recognize our worth and how powerful we are, there are stages we go through that promote overall self-development.

Again, there is no one-size fits - there are different beliefs and realms through different cultures, all of which I think have powerful lessons to teach us in our lives. There is no right or wrong way, it is again, about what feels right for us.
