Thoughts from the Winter Season, 22/23

A time that we are meant to rest, the sky is dark and we are meant to go inwards. To take space and listen to our mind and what it is asking of us. We thrive when the days are longer and the sun is shining, it is a natural rhythm of our bodies to maybe struggle a little more when it goes away (think seasonal depression things).

Fresh (think cold) thoughts: through integration, communication and creation. Practices I am carrying on throughout my year because I have recognized the effect that the doing, the saying and building have on my goals.

Releasing judgements, constructs, fears. Fuck, do they ever hold us back.

I’ve talked about this before, but the healing that plants offer is something so sacred…

Fennel. A tool that encourages us to live in integrity with ourselves.

Cardamom. Something for regaining objectivity, mental sobriety, and aiding us with self-control. Something that I have been adding to my coffee each morning to aid with some digestion things as well.

Stepping into the next version of myself: no holding back, reframing confidence and just doing it, nourishment. I can.

Reframe the inner gremlin thoughts when they arise because they will.

Importance of releasing our “stuff”. By not, we are causing stress on our bodies and our overall well-being. This is a blog for another time.

Becoming her- being good enough as I am. Something I have struggled with as I tend to think and focus on the future too much.

Our thoughts and mindset create our reality - when you are in the negative mindset that so many of us are raised on, things are always probably going to seem that they are happening to you.

Connection to all things earth and leaning into spirit (which has been really scary because of the constructs I have held, but so many beautiful lessons). Something I have been so nervous to talk about because of judgment, but I am releasing that as well. A continual process.

If there is a part of you that sees and wants to make a change in your daily habits, the thought process or whichever… there is an unconscious part of our beings that hold us back (caused from the narratives that we grew up on). We naturally go back to what we know because the known is safe. It takes consistent efforts on our part to make a change.

Set intentions for your year, but also don’t focus to far ahead. What can you do right now?

Flow. Difficult in a world that teaches us to be go-go-go. But it can bring us to a whole other level of awareness.

Rosemary: the tool for transition

Repeat: I act as though I already have what I want.

Our thoughts really do depict our entire being.

Undoing sexual traumas.

An official surrender - claim your power. Overcome yourself.

Culture. Something I rejected for so long, because I didn’t understand. It is something that has been talked about throughout my courses, but I was close-minded for so long so I never listened.

When I began on a growth journey, I was so aligned with Indigenous ways- nature, the connection. But I am a white woman so I didn’t belong.

This brought me to align with the witches, the sacred feminine - more stories that aren’t told unless you look. More stories that I will share as I learn.
